Zelda’s voice actor did not know she was auditioning for the titular character

Published:

It seems that the voice actor behind Zelda in each Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom did not even know she was auditioning for the character.

To say Nintendo is secretive is like saying you want air to breathe: the 2 come hand in hand. Clearly that is particularly been the case with Tears of the Kingdom, a sport that solely actually had correct trailers this 12 months, only a few months earlier than it got here out. So it should not be all that shocking to listen to that Zelda’s voice actor herself, Patricia Summersett, was not instructed that the character she was auditioning for was actually the princess of Hyrule.

In an interview with IGN, Summersett spoke about her position as Zelda, and the way she ended up with it within the first place. Unsurprisingly, she wasn’t instructed all that a lot about it previous to her audition. “It simply appeared like an RPG fantasy,” Summersett shared. “I did not have every other info than that it was for a princess character who had a whole lot of weight on her shoulders.”

A couple of weeks after auditioning, she received the information that she can be enjoying Zelda – although she was grateful she did not know that previous to the audition. “I’ve a sense that if I knew what it was, I might’ve overthought the method,” she stated. “I am completely happy I went in blind.”

Summersett was appropriately secretive when requested about if Zelda’s position can be greater on this sequel, as there is not all that a lot voice appearing in Breath of the Wild, although did say “In case you have a look at the trailers, you may see that the gameplay is indicative of a really giant journey. Everytime you get to re-approach a sport after having already performed a personality, you are going to wish to stretch so far as you may.”

On the subject of whether or not she thinks followers can be completely happy with regards to fan service, the reply was a convincing “Sure. Oh yeah.” That might imply something, clearly, but it surely’s nonetheless thrilling as a Zelda fan myself. Now all we want is the power to play as Zelda herself – and if we’re fortunate, it may be potential.
